19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial trophy for nearly 30 months with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after spring of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's defensive approach and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an better serving game.

He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

Both players swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional victory, took control to force a decider.

He rescued four initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to control a shot after over two and a half hours.
